Day 18: The Happiness Project

I’ve got an annoying tummy bug today, as does Sir Thwacksalot— up all freaking night— so I’ll keep this one brief. I need a cup of peppermint tea and a lazy duvet day.

It’s a real shame I’ve decided to stop eating cheese and cake this month. It’s that kind of day.

Day 18’s happy moment was a low key birthday outing for M’s sister’s birthday. A slightly drizzly walk around the arboretum, scoping out the mad variety of trees (apparently they have over 500 species on the grounds) and breathing in the lovely, fresh air and the scent of lush greenery, followed up with a chilled out pub lunch with their parents in what appeared to be a repurposed old cattle barn. The cobbly floor sloped noticeably, all the more easy to tip your cows, should the desire present itself.

It was calm and pleasant and very human and low-key social and Oscar didn’t howl the entire time.
