It has been a long winter. I mean, it’s mid-May and my mid-weight coat is still hanging on the hook on the back of the kitchen door. I think my inner rhythms had been tricked by a decade in warmer climes, where T-shirts are acceptable clothing starting sometimes as early as March.
In Leicester, not so much.
I mean, the other day, we had hail. And rain. And a lot of nippy, blowy, blustery skies.
But yesterday, still feeling uncharacteristically optimistic and ebullient after our brainstorming/spreadsheeting session the day before, we had a lovely sunny day.
Sunny enough to have afternoon coffees out in the back garden (see above).
Sunny enough to go for a bright and lovely stroll to the park in the evening (see below). Lots of talk of plans and thoughts. Lots of stopping to smell the flowers.
Things are finally starting to chug along slowly but purposefully.
